Ride down to Tassie with us
I don't even know if I will have the new Ninja by then, to be honest, I am holding off until the 2023 model release and that won't be until around September this year so depending on delivery and $$$$. Plus just to tease me we got the second Suzuki GT today and uncreated it the guys were saying shame this won't be one that you can have now there are no panniers. Plus this is the first Metallic Reflective Blue I have seen. I prefer the Trition Blue to be honest. But I need to forget about the GT and settle for the Ninja even with the engine heat that I hated with the Versys. Great in winter but not so great in the summer.

Hi guys - had a long adventure out along the Bylong Way with 23 other bikes up to Murrurundi and back last weekend. Trip was great. Potholes bad… didn’t realise until cleaning the bike this afternoon that I’ve done some damage. Any suggested options on repair v replace? Safe to ride?? Thanks in advance.

Looks like a replacement unless you can find a reputable repairer; currently 10 weeks wait and $A1,650 for a new front wheel which includes bearings.

Plus fitting, of course.

Day 2 of the ride was without the potholes, so I must have ridden it 500km’s on the way home with no pressure loss or noticeable alignment problem… Any experience Heli on riding it in this state while waiting for the wheel?

I hit a pothole Sunday before last and didn’t see any damage.

Yesterday’s 60,000km service had a notation on the invoice to replace the front bearings at the next tyre change because of a buckled front rim. No call during the day, no explanation, despite calling for the bearings to be checked and replaced if needed. Lots of discussions on the phone today to find out WTF is wrong with the rim.

In (again) next week for bearing replacement and wheel rim check. If it’s less than 3mm runout then it’s within BMW tolerance, but I’ve done at least a thousand kms since the pothole hit 🙊

Hate for it to have a sudden air loss mate. I wouldn’t ride it.

I don’t think it’s worth the risk, personally

WOW, Mark, I feel for you so much buddy. I don't like repairing dents but there would be someone that can do them. I do know there is a place in Sydney that does car wheels so they may be the ones to ask. I can't remember their trading name but happy to find out for you if you like.I would think the biggest issue these days is getting hold of a wheel but BMW Motorrad in Melbourne are usually the best stockiest. Sorry just seen Heli has done the work for us, his a good man and always on the ball.

I’d be asking a specialist wheel repair mob, Warners Wheels are close to me and I could coordinate transport etc but likely to be someone in Sydney for sure

Great shot going through the water. Do I see a XR 1000 parked next to your bike. There my nemesis down here.

Jenks, are you standing up riding across that causeway or are you 7 foot 19 tall?
