Z2463 VStream® Touring Replacement Screen for BMW® K1600GT/GTL
Item Number: Z2463

Picked this up today atr my local BMW dealership to replace the OEM Windscreen on my 2023 GT.

I'm just under 5'9 and this screen seems to accomplish what I required.....Able to hear music/navigation in my helmet (Shoei Neotec II with SRL Mesh) at highway speeds.

At the very high setting I can see thru the screen or drop it down and look over the top and it appears to still direct the air away from the head and keep the noise down.

Was only a short ride, as a storm was enroute.

My kind of install, simply unscrew the 4 bolts, take out the old, put on the new!!

Thanks for the information! I want to put something different on my GTL, thinking about a Klockwerks, but haven't settled on one yet, maybe I'll have to think about a VStream too.

I have this same screen and like it, been installed since 2017
I need to get a different windshield for my new to me 2019 K1600 GT as the stock one is far too noisy and tiring. I've been reading everything I can find on windshields - looking to find something that will work for me at 6'1" & 33" inseam. Shipping these things to Canada and our exchange rate from CAD to USD make the purchase of other windshields prohibitive, but a Canadian online site can provide the VStream (tall and short) as well as the Puig Touring at a reasonable cost ( somewhere from $280 to $350 CAD delivered). I'm leaning towards the VStream based on the reviews I've read so far, but am having difficulty choosing between the tall and standard versions. In my province, there are about 4 hours of long, straight roads before mountain roads are accessed, and buffeting on the highway for 4 hours going in a straight line sucks. If anyone out there is of similar height, and has experience with the VStream 2463 vs the taller 2464, vs. the Puig, I've spent a fortune on other windshields for other bikes, and find that taller isn't necessarily better, (it wasn't on my GSA, or my RT1200), but it was on my KTM 1290.

I'm all ears, and subscribed to this thread.

just a note the Puig screen gets in the way when you try to fold the mirrors back
but the vsteam one is ok as it has the cut out but it is down to you

Thanks Steve - appreciate the information. So you ride the GT as well, with the lower of the VStream touring shields (Z2463). Can you let me know what you'd recommend given my height of ±185.4 cm (6'1")? I have the stock GT shield bolstered by a cheap clip on shield, but that's not suitable. I'll keep the low stock GT shield for riding in the summer over the summer, but I'm looking specifically for a shield to quiet things up on the highway. I've just ordered the VStream taller version (Z2464), but it will take a day or two before it is shipped, and I'm sure I could change to the Z2463 if I contact them within a day or so.
Cheers,
Jeff

Let us know what you find when you get the tall shield. I’m curious if it would be better for me also. I’m 6’2”ish and the current CalSci shield I have is still rumbly at the top of my helmet at 80mph.

the standard vstream for the GT /NOT THE SPORT works I'm 6ft and the way it moves the wind away and puts deflection over my head so you don't need a tall screen
i have a vstream for a GTL witch is taller but i found i did not need it
the last photo is with the screen all the way down

I really appreciate the pictures and your take on screen requirement differences between the GTL and GT. I think I'll stick with the taller version, and be prepared to cut it down if I experience too much back pressure. After a conversation with the seller, a return on this item if there is ANY hint that it was unpackaged and mounted will be refused. I guess I'll just start tall, and take it down a bit if required.
I will definitely keep the group posted on my results.
let me know how you get on
and enjoy
i did not have any back presser with both screens
Hi all,
I have had the VStream tall (Z2464) for a few rides now, and am generally satisfied. I haven't had the opportunity to do much distance, and the riding I have done has been in very windy/gusty weather, but I can say that at around 6'1" I can see comfortably over the top of the windscreen. At city speeds of say, under 80 km/hr the screen is everything I'd hoped for. I like to ride with my visor (Schberth C4) open, and never felt the need to close it in town. The bike engine and transmission noise are much more apparent, with the wind noise reduced to very quiet levels. At 80 - 120 km/hr, the wind noise is back, but certainly bettery than it was. Raising it higher than about three inches doesn't seem to help much, although I may feel differently about that in the rain. The screen is solid, fit perfectly, and well made. It looks like earplugs will still be required at highway speeds, but overall, I'm not unhappy.

I think that the screen might be better at higher speeds if it were not so vertical when extended. I may monkey around with playing with the mounting to skew it a bit so it tilts back a little more. I was playing with a clip on deflector, and I really don't think it was of benefit overall, and would prefer to keep the top of the screen uncluttered.

I'll post with further updates when I've had the chance to ride some more.

Cheers,
Jeff

After trying 5 other shields (OEM GT, OEM GTL, CalSci regular, CalSci wide and 7Jurock "B") the VStream worked for me. Loved the CalSci on previous RT, but the K bike puts the shield physically further forward. For reference, I'm 6 ft with 32 inseam with the GT seat in the high position. Shoei Neotec 2 with in ear monitors. No more buffeting.

Is your Vstream the Z2463, or the taller Z2464? My 2464 is an improvement over stock, but not great at highway speed.
Mine is the Z2463. The other would have been too tall for me. I did test rides with gloves off to feel what the air was doing and where it collapsed causing buffeting.

Ah, I see. Given that I have the taller Z2464 screen, I guess I have the option of cutting it down, but by how much I'm not sure. I purchased a used 20" 7Jurock screen from a member that is on its way to me. I will wait to see what it is like at speed, and decide what to do with the VStream at that point. Leave it be, cut it down, or sell it. "As is" for me, is perfect at speeds below 80km/hr but I want a high speed highway solution.
