Hey PEEPS!
SOOOO,
I took my new to me 2017 R1200RT in today for it's 12k Valve check (13.5 on the odo)
and those **** angels started singing...

I drove out of the dealership with a 2014 K1600GT.
only 5500 on the ODO.
They put a low GTL seat on it so I can now flat foot.
(pics don't show the seat, will work on that)

Second, I think you're doing valve adjustments wrong. But congrats!

If you mean by having them do it? ya, I just don't play with internals.

The proper way to do a valve adjustment is to do the valve adjustment. Not buy all new valves, with a 2014 GT wrapped around them….

Great looking bike JP. I also went from an R1200RT to a 2014 GTL. I like the seat height better on the RT (I'm 6'4"), but the K1600 wins in every other comparison.

I didn't read where he mentioned trading it in - the OP isn't very clear on whether he traded in, or just bought another bike.

I did the same many years ago, it was the best decision, the RT is just not in the same league in terms of all day comfort and sports touring.
