Winter time, can't ride, crappy weather.....
If this hasn't been discussed before, what do you folks do for a living or, if retired, what did you do for a living?

I was an Air Force Avionics technician on C5 aircraft. Started off as an Instrument mechanic and then as the AF got away from specialty work, became a "Guidance and Control" Specialist which consists of Instruments and Automatic Flight Controls (Auto-pilot). I was then approached by Lockheed Martin to become a Field Engineer at Dover AFB, basically being embedded with the AF mechanics and Flight Crew to assist with maintenance problems. I worked for LM for 17 years until we lost our Gov't contract. I then worked a short stint with a local company that customizes aircraft for foreign dignitaries, heads of state and filthy rich folks. They take brand new 737's from Boeing and fully customize them to whatever the customer wants. The process takes a few years to complete and payments come in suitcases every few months.
I was waiting for a position to open up at the company I now work for when the other company hired me and once the opening happened, I took the current job. I'm now a "System Analyst" for General Atomics, we're contracted by the AF to make tools, test equipment and write procedures to assist mechanics on C5 aircraft. It's not the most glamorous job but it's still in my wheelhouse and the paychecks are coming every 2 weeks!

Masters degree in Metallurgy and Mining, production manager at various steel plants in Germany, plant manager cement plants in Germany, USA, VP Manufacturing USA and Canada, then Austria for an international cement producer, now Managing director of a refractory company. Still have some 5-10 years to go until retirement. Not sure if that is an objective though

I own and run a small commercial cabinet shop that caters, for the most part, to the medical field -- hospitals, professional offices, etc. We opened our doors 35 years ago and have become one of the established, go-to shops for the Kansas City metro area even though, in my mind, we're still the new kids on the block (everybody's so different, I haven't changed!). Oh, and I'm curious, what is this "retirement" thing some of you speak of?

I spent some time in this field working for Scitex, Creo and Kodak. At Kodak I was level 4 support for our version of a digital press and high speed printing heads in the commercial market.

I am a lawyer in the movie business, but please don’t tell my mother. (She thinks I am a piano player in a whorehouse.)
So, you're saying you don't want her to think less of you? >:) Geez, I have to think your business is booming, right now!
