I now have a working mount that allows us to install the Carpuride into the factory mount for the Nav V/VI. The device is powered through the mount once installed. The Carpuride allows you to basically see and do anything you would on your phone, but without having your phone mounted and exposed to vibration and the elements. It does this by supporting both Apple Car Play and Android Auto. It allows access to your phone apps, like streaming music, google maps etc. Audio is Bluetooth from the device to your helmet.

This is my working prototype installed on my bike.

Here is the Carpuride with their ball mount removed. The mount supports the anti-vibration pad as well as the weather seal wall.

Going to be selling them? What are you thinking as far as price goes?
Probably around $80+shipping. It's not a big mount like my others but that actually makes it a bit more work to build. And it has a circuit board for the power contacts that I have to have made and then wired in.

Great job.

I have had a my Carpuride in use all year. 27,400 kms using it.

It works well.

What does not is that using gloves is pretty poor on it. The Garmin is the bomb for using gloves.

AnyGlove® Ultra works really well for finicky touch screens. I used it when I had a non-glove friendly tuning device I needed to control while riding. Lasted pretty good too.

Well, you've done nothing more than copy my "messy" idea to put a price on it.
Congratulations.
You're not the first person to do it. There are other threads on this site from other members. As far as I know, I'm the first to make it manufacturable and offer it to the community. Hardly a copy of your work. I've spent many hours creating a reproducible mount design that fits and works correctly.

That should be of special interest to @DavidMcK 👍
I'm trying to find a local test mule. I have to run to Reno next week so I can go by the dealer (if they have any bikes with that dash)

I guess those that have the dashboard bezel/shroud for the BMW Nav IV will need to buy the larger one from the M/Y's that had the NAV VI - is that correct?
The Nav V and Nav VI screen sizes are exactly the same. The only difference is the screen is shifted 2mm right on the Nav VI (relative to the mount) which is why BMW has two bezels (dashes). I could have split the difference but then the screen is off by 1mm on both dashes. But I have decided to do what I did with the XT mount and make two versions. When properly centered, the Carpuride will have about 1.5mm dead space on the left and right so the entire display is visible.

My printed circuit boards for the mount should be here today. Not sure why it took DHL 7 days to deliver them... Once I verify (or adjust) the PCB fit into the mount I should have some ready to go.

Guys I have a limited quantity of these mounts now. Because of the list of those wanting one from a Facebook post I made, I haven't opened up orders on my website yet. But if some of those interested here want one, I'll ship to you all first. Just message me and I can send you a payment link.

What electrical connector/plug does the Carpuride use - the connectors in the first post don't look like the final version.
It has a permanently installed 4 inch long pigtail with a two pin barrel connector. Just need to cut off the connector and insert the wires into my supplied crimp connector (or if so inclined, solder and heat shrink). Details are here. https://coyote-industries.com/Carpuride Instructions.pdf

The inline splice is solid and very easy to do.

If only I had seen this before I bought the XT.

In my car I use a wireless Carplay adapter and Waze - at 5 yrs the complementary Sirius Traffic expired for my in dash NAV.

The traffic on the XT has only worked for me 50% of the time vs Waze in my car has been 95%+
Yes, I turn the traffic off on the XT. Not sure why they can't do better. The next display mount is in-progress.... go big or go home.

I was hoping JBV1 could come up so I could see the app on my screen. It's not a biggie because it'll still run on my phone but I'd like to be able to see or hear it
I thought carplay and android auto both supported screen mirroring though.

I hope they do. I have no idea how to get it to invoke on the carpuride.

Johnny will come back in a bit and let us know. After he is done playing with it.
Paul, I think it takes a wifi connection from the phone to the device. Both devices need to support it. One of these guys will figure it out I'd bet.

Here is the Carpuride 7 inch prototype model mounted and working. Powered by the stock GPS mount. Easily removed at the end of the day.

Is this a prototype or are you going to make these too? I think with larger screen, ease of use with gloves would be much better....Might be time to upgrade my mount! 😂😂😂
I'm going to make it. Some of the guys over on a FB group asked for it. The mount will work with almost any display you can find but it's the 7" carpuride I designed it for. I have PC boards being made now and should have them in a week or so.
