Hi, just picked-up a new '22 K1600 GT over the weekend. Fantastic addition to my R1250GSA. Now the accessorizing-fun begin; did anyone mounted Zumo XT GPS on the latest 2022 K1600 GT/GTL ? Any suggestions/recommendations? Thx in advance!

These guys do a very sexy looking mount that fits in place of the BMW roundel between the bars. Take a look at "Flyer 2" on the Product Info page to see what it's like.

I'm told that they are really helpful if you email them and that the product is extremely well finished.

I agree that the BMW "connected app" works and it is nice to have but it does have few difficulties; when importing .gpx file to the app the "way-points" are lost. Although you can create a multi way-points route on the app, it is a tedious undertaking when you can only do it on the phone app. Additionally the "display-refresh-speed" over the cellular network and Bluetooth connection is slower and maps details are lesser when comparing to Garmin or other Nav apps.

Very nice, found out today on a 9 hour ride in 104 degree (F) the Connected app is trash.
I just feel it works the phones too hard with blutooth & wifi & display & charging at the same time. My phone shut down with the heat. ( I have had it in 110 degrees before on my GS so I blame the app).
And no, it wasn't in the cubby, because the iPhone pro barely fits and when i closed it I couldn't get the !$@%$! thing open again for 20 min, may have broken it as it will not open at all now.
Wife agrees and told me I could buy a Zumo tonight!

Just got 22'GT Connected sucks. Have an xt on my s1000xr mounted and Arizona Jim ball in center and attached via ram plate. works like a charm. Ran electric from similar system as pdm60.

No obscuration of TFT.
Simple installation... roughly 1-hour (mostly removing/re-installing right-side fairing)

I had a TPX radar detector wired into the powerlet wires and found that when it detected a full signal and I turned the bike off it did not shut down power on the powerlet and could come back and hour later and it would still be chirping away.
I got a relay installed as sucking too much power won't let the canbus turn the power off to it. Relay fixed it and now have radar detector and XT.

Should have soldered the wires and used adhesive lined heat shrink to keep things water proof.
I agree. Motorcycles are a hostile environment for electrical connections. Soldered connections are always better than using things like posi-taps and similar mechanical devices in which moisture-induced corrosion can create havoc.
Have you verified power actually fully shuts down when the bike is off?
I power my Zumo XT from the same point (I actually used the Wunderlich "Quick Connect" cable kit so I didn't have to cut the OEM harness) and can confirm that power to the GPS does shut off - albeit after a delay - when the bike is off.

Those that have mounted the Zumo above the TFT, are you having RF interference from the TFT adversely effecting the performance/accuracy/speed of the Zumo?

@st13phil , I recently read another forum where you and others are fighting the interference issue. FMS Accessories. FMS Accessories seems to have a solution for the TFT/RT. When I get the GT I"ll do some quick testing/checking. If the XT is adversely effected by the TFT I'll adapt a shield to block RF. One way or the other, I assure you I'll make the Zumo XT work just fine on the new bike... :)

The mount will attach to a cover panel above and behind the TFT. Here'a a photo of the panel with the XT mount I came up with attached.
