Ram mount on Handlebars?

I have a 2018 K1600B with the forged handlebars, which are identical to the bars on the GTL. I'd like to mount a Ram ball on them but the shape of the bars doesn't facilitate this. Hoping some of you creative folks have done this in a way that hasn't yet occurred to me!:eek:ld:

You can use the Wunderlich multi-pod adapter. This replaces the bolts that hold the ends of your handle bars in place.

Once you have this installed you screw in a rammount ball for attachment. I don't specifically remember which rammount ball you need, perhaps someone else can chime in.

Or you can use the Wunderlich MultiPod Modular, which is a nice piece of engineered equipment but also really expensive that you would use instead of the rammount.

There's also an Adaptive Mount that will let you mount various things on it. For instance I've got on of those on the right side with their Universal Grip Holder, that's been holding my iPhone.
Use model D-01-10 for the GTL

Techmount also makes a mount.

I just got to this forum after long time it was open. I'm looking to a mount for an action cam, that I would like to show the road AND the dashboard (the helmet mount would be an option but I'm too old to go around with a camera on my head ;) ). I wonder how the Adaptive tech could work if you have some extra option installed like on my moped - see picture

I used this without the "U-bolt" part and mounted it right on top of the clutch bracket. I purchased 2 M5x35 bolts from the local Ace Hardware and replaced the 2 shorter BMW bolts.

From my understanding, the inside threads of the multipod adapter are M8 threads and will accept this ball:

I also have a used aforementioned Adaptiv Mount for sale if you're interested.

Thanks for the tip. I just got my K1600GT and I'm liking this location the best. I like to have my phone up high so I don't have to look down. I found that RAM sells just the base without the U-clamp hardware:

Thanks guys, great suggestions. As for mounting on top of the clutch bracket, unfortunately thats been re-designed now to accomodate the aux light and reverse buttons, so theres no longer any bolts to use for mounting. But keep 'em coming. I wonder if anyone has fab'd something to allow that Ram part (mentioned by mglax) to be mounted to the odd shaped handle bar stalks.

Hi buddy I have gone through the same with my 2018 GTL a mate gave me a Ram X Grip and Ram double ended extension so I did a bit of search on the web and come across the Ultimateaddons Handlebar Clamp Bolt Kit. In this case I will use the UA-M10 UA-MX that has the 1`` ball and it mounts into the centre of the bars where the BMW Emblem is now if you use this option as I have the thread size is 10mm ,here is some info: Compatibility

Will work with any Motorcycle that uses an M6/M8/M10 size threaded bolt which can be removed and replaced with the Ultimate Addons screw Attachment & Ball.
This kit is simple to install with a allan key. Simply choose the best fitting Longest Screw. Remove the original screw from the Motorcycle, place the 1" (25mm) ball connector in the hole and then replace with the Ultimate Addons Screw. Tighten then ready for use!

Ball Size:

25mm Ball Size
Compatible with RAM Mount “B” Size 1” Ball Mounts

Included in Package:

1 x Ultimate Addons 1" (25mm) Ball Connector
1 x Ultimate Addons 55mm Screw Bolt
1 x Ultimate Addons 60mm Screw Bolt
1 x Ultimate Addons 65mm Screw Bolt
see the photos below.

I have seen that too and thought about getting one of them but for us here in Australia the cost of USPS is over the top and in most cases cost the same if not more than the product you are buying. I was lucky enough to get a similar mount here by doing a bit of research ,the difference I won't see the emblem as the one I am getting will cover the hole where the emblem lives .:frown:Thanks for the info .

This is what I used and did this week to mount my iPhone. The mount is a Ultimate Addons Handel bar Blot with 1`` ball . I drilled a 10mm hole in my Roundel then put a washer and bolt under that to secure the Roundel and this was the result .Total cost $30.00 AUD. I have to say Jims mount looks more stable but if this does not work I will buy his , the sad thing for us here in Australia is the cost of postage and my reason for going the way I did makes it more cost effective although may be not the best option .
