I was interested to see what trips you took this past year. For me, the year was exceptionally good. I have a few buddies who like to tour and a wife who always says go! ???

Outside of some weekend local riding, I was able to ride:
1. Florida to Moab, UT. and some Colorado river riding. (17 days)
2. Florida to PA for the 9/11 Memorial including Virginia, D.C. and all states between. Met up with 400 other riders for an escorted three day ride. No red lights, traffic or other obstacles. (5 days)
3. Florida up the East coast thru Savannah, Myrtle Beach, two car ferries and Virginia Beach... Turned off the Interstate roads on the GPS and only took back roads. What an adventure seeing all of the small towns, experiencing all of the local tastes and friendliness. (9 days) Also stopped for a tire change and a new battery.

A good year for sure. I hope all of you had similar experiences.

I seem to get away for not more than a week or two at a time February I rode down to rocky point Mexico about 4 days, March I was going to ride my r-1200 GS to California, but someone wrecked me and destroyed my bike, I have replaced the bike but my arm is still sore,

May I rode my new bike from Arizona up through Utah and back in June for 7 days,

August I rode the k1600gt. 6 days in Colorado great time lower temperatures little rain,

October 6 I rode from phoenix az through las Vegas to Los Angeles CA and through the beautiful mountain in the Angeles forest for a total of 5 days

I still ride local day rides in Arizona, I may go to Utah next. Summer to my home in Layton and ride the northwest while it's warm in Arizona

It's been a great year for motorcycle ride except for the crash and my k1600 drive shaft failure

Sorry to hear about the wreck. Looks like you're doing some nice tours...

Took K1600B purchased in 2019 off 36k warranty in March, (Big Bend Tx trip) . Purchased new RT in April, just hit 23k on it. 2 round trips Fla to California coast to coast, 2 round trips Fla to Canadian border. One Fla to Pacific NW (SD, Wy, Mt, Id, Wa.) and a couple short trips.

Tom
That's a lot of trips
How do you like the RT compared with the k1600b

Why did you get the RT

From SC, took all back roads to the Rally in Montana in June, after the rally continued west to ride Beartooth Pass, Lolo Pass, and see Crater Lake in Oregon before heading back east. Two weeks after getting home headed north to Md. to ride with my oldest son to Sturgis while the youngest son met us there from Denver, Co. Great summer of riding and still doing short lunch rides in during the week with my local Beemer buddies.

April, Arizona to the Tail of the Dragon get together then to Iowa to see my folks and back home via Colorado.

June, Arizona to the MOA rally in Great Falls via Utah and Wyoming where I hooked up with brother Steve. Left there and we met friends for a week of riding in the Black Hills then back home.

In October a 4 day ride in Eastern Arizona with friends from this forum.

The wife and I did a weekend in Helen, GA. About 450 miles total (about 150 of it in the mountains).

I did a week in Virginia for a rock music festival. The ride itself was 700 miles round-trip. Not anything crazy to a lot of you, but it was the longest trip I've been on. I stopped roughly every two hours, and took about 7 hours to cover the 350 miles each way.

With that being my first trip of this distance, I was really surprised at how smoothly it went. I really feel like I could have kept riding more, and it has me wanting to take some more extended length rides.

I did a little ride this June, covering 5,500 miles in 4 1/2 days. Was planning on 13,000-14,000 miles in 11 days, but I had to cut the trip short due to family issues.

Oh, and that was after the 750 mile ride to the start in Provo a few days before.

Have been extremely blessed with several opportunities to get out on the bike(s). This is the Spotwalla tracks for 2021... covering about 68k miles (so far) and includes both the GSA and GTL. Big rides: 11-day IBR was 13k-ish miles and essentially circumnavigated the US. Recent ride was about 9k miles up into the New England states on the GTL. You could say I'm slightly addicted to a couple different 'events': Tour of Honor and Americas Ultimate Long Distance Rider Challenge. You can find both of those groups on Facebook.

Nice looking map there. :)

America's Ultimate Long Distance Rider Challenge sounds like fun, if only I was retired...

I'm not retired!! Sure, that definitely helps with the amount of time to ride, but anyone can definitely can take part and it's a helluva lotta fun no matter how much you're able to get out. Go check it out! It's actually the event that really got me started (and quickly addicted to) with all the 'scavenger hunt' types of riding. It's completely changed my outlook while riding... for the better.

I know I'm very lucky... can telecommute for work from literally anywhere I've got wifi. Plus the 4x10 schedule allows for a 3-day weekend every weekend. Oh... and an extremely understanding wife who 'allows' me to put in the miles.

2300 miles in England, Scotland and Wales.
We rode all over that little island when we lived in Wales. So many great roads and fun places to explore.

Even rode up to Gretna Green to get married, then rode around Scotland and took the ferry up to Orkney before heading back to Wales.

Great fun.

The son of a friend of mine "Became of Age" in that, he got a motorcycle and put a few miles on it with his mate.

My friend and I decided to introduce them to Scotland, it has been the first time we have managed to get outside of Northern Ireland in two years, anyway, I think they will be going back.

Most of my riding was local (to me) in the mountains northwest of Los Angeles. @Thomas also guided me on a day ride through some great mountain roads northeast of San Diego, which is an area I want to explore further. On the longer side, I did ride to the MOA Rally in Montana, taking in a handful of states on the round trip. I also did the @Arizona Jim ride on the Arizona/New Mexico border, which is a blast.

I'm hoping to fit in an official Iron Butt SS1000 before the end of the year. I know, close to winter, but this is SoCal. I've done several rides that were close, so I figure I may as well get an official designation. Right now, I'm leaning towards a round trip from LA to Flagstaff, AZ on I-40. It's about 500 miles each way, so it fits prefect. I just have to pick the right day to avoid weather and ice. It will be 2-up with my wife, so she'll get and official acknowledgement too. (y)

After that I toured the starship Enterprise!
My wife knows the guy who put that all together. He got a call from an old friend that said they were cleaning out an old Paramount storage unit and did he want to come take look before they threw everything away?

So he flew out to Hollywood, crated everything up, and shipped it to Ticonderoga, NY. Apparently, Gene Roddenberry's desk was there with papers and stuff still in the drawers.

Amazing how close that all came to just being tossed in a landfill...

Wife and I took our first trip on the K1600B by just taking a couple of extra days after a weekend and going. No reservations, no hard plans, just headed for AR. Got down to Harrison AR day one. Over to Eureka Springs and Bentonville day two. Made a loop down they Oark and back up to Eureka Springs day three. Day four back home stopping here and there and discovering little towns and little restaurants to get a meal. 1063 miles, no plans, see what we see. She had a great time. HWHL. 😀
