First ride…. Paired my iPhone 15 to the Cap unit. Turned on my Shoei Neotech/SRL which paired with my phone. Used Libby on the Cap to fire up my book on tape. Rode.

I had to do some monkeying around with the volume, probably obvious but was able fix it withought thinking about it so, meh.

My total configuration time was under a minute.

I will say that my Cap units display is off by 1/8” but that’s a manufacturing issue. Not sure I’ll bother to replace it.

Followed all of Cap's support instructions and cannot get the 702 to FW update. It displays the upgrade prompt and then immediately shuts down requiring an unplug to reset. They are shipping me an upgrade TF card to try so we'll see what that does. Assume it's coming from China.

Thanks @coyotek! I just placed the order on your site. I'm still on the fence about the W702 but since you made the mount so modular I realized it's perfect to use with anything requiring a Ram mount with the ability to wire in 12V! Really like the way you designed it.

Yes, it will work with almost any device you want to mount and power. Honestly, I feel the 7" display is too big but a lot of guys really want it. I haven't had time yet for detailed instructions but I suspect you'll figure it out just fine. Any questions, just message me. Thanks.

I'm hoping someone can answer this question. Normally, I like to use the motorcycle speakers for listening to music from my phone, using a usb powered blue tooth receiver that also has a wire that plugs into the audio jack and set the bike audio to Aux. If I wanted to install a capuride, and use Android Auto, can the capuride be connected to the phone and blue tooth receiver at the same time and have the output through the speakers?

It has a permanently installed 4 inch long pigtail with a two pin barrel connector. Just need to cut off the connector and insert the wires into my supplied crimp connector (or if so inclined, solder and heat shrink). Details are here. https://coyote-industries.com/Carpuride Instructions.pdf

The inline splice is solid and very easy to do.
Wouldn't cutting into the hardwired pigtail void the warranty? Wouldn't it be better to cut the battery wire that capuride supplies?

Yes, you can do it and it works, but you will not be able to talk on the phone if you receive a call, you will be able to listen but the other party will not hear you.

Yes it will void your warranty. If that's a concern, you can cut it on the other side of the connector. It's just not as "clean" of a setup, but it will certainly work.

@coyotek - Thanks for your work on this. I've ordered one of your mounts for the 502 through your website. Ship to NY address.
Already packaged and goes out today. I'll message you the tracking info. For some reason my shipping isn't sending out that to you.

OK, got the update TF card from China. They told me to format mine with ExFAT but sent me a FAT32 card. Oh well. It flashed the unit and it has a slightly different UI. Set up the phone and Cardo again and - no love. The difference is that it outputs the audio through the BT Trans output instead of the AA BT output which in reality doesn't change a thing. The Cardo BT functions other than volume still do not work and while I was able to use voice to make a call, I could barely hear the other side and they could not hear me at all. I tried every option there and no sound from me went through.

I've documented all of this back to Carp support so we'll see if they can make any progress. If not, I'm probably returning it. This is exactly what I wanted, but the inability to take calls on top of having to push a touchscreen button to pause music just won't fly for me.

Some success!

Carp support got back to me with the revised user's manual for the new firmware. Looks like they are rolling it out as production now. You can also see the revised UI in the photos. The thing not well documented is that when it starts a popup appears that says something like "audio is played through BT Trans." So I initially paired the helmet to that with no luck. What you have to do is pair up AA (or CarPlay, I assume) and then go to the audio output app on the main screen (#3 on page 3) and then choose iplay/Auto. It will restart AA and now the media/calls are routed from the phone to the helmet. In my case (AA with Cardo Edge) everything now works as intended - volume, media controls, etc.

My one sticking point is that the Google Assistant is not getting helmet audio properly. When I say "Hey Google" through the helmet mic, it prompts Google Assistant with a full volume (painful) ding and the phone and 702 screen show it's waiting but nothing I say is picked up. It then cancels audio input more quickly than normal - like it's been cancelled. If I touch the Google mic icon on the 702 the same thing happens where the audio is not routing through to the assistant. If I manually open the Assistant on the phone it does work properly.

That's a small workaround such that I've cancelled my return of the unit and will keep working with it.

If you have a 702 and want to flash it to the new firmware - it's here. Just note that you have to format your TF card to FAT32.

Thanks for all your effort.

Hey @coyotek - any suggestions for vibration? I've been on a few rides with the 702 now and notice it vibrates a fair amount. Was wondering if putting a rubber coating on the two Ram mount balls (like the actual Ram versions have) would settle things down? Would need to be judicious on the 702 end as the ball mount is also the heatsink.

I'm not surprised it moves some, it's stuck out quite a ways. I don't think you have to worry about heat sinking... the base of the mount is really all it needs. Your idea sounds worth a shot if it moves enough to bother you. (y)

Ok I got the mount and carpuride into my bike…knowing my bike has no Bluetooth because it’s 2014, is there a way to get this set up to work?
The device connects to your phone and headset. I doesn't normally connect to the bike (except for power). Although I know at least one guy that has it BT to a dongle plugged into the bike port so he gets his music through the speakers.
