Ive got the new and improved RD shelf ready to go. Its now formed from 16ga stainless sheet metal from a local fabricator, they did a nice job, I'm happy with them.
I am also now using a thicker VHB tape, its also stickier than the last one I used so I dont see an issue of these falling off. Much like the last one, just be sure to attach it while its warm. They install all the way down to the bottom of the dash against the lip around the opening for the GPS. Take your time and dry fit it first so you can see how it fits. Use the included alcohol prep pad to clean the underside of the dash. Then peel the backing off the tape and carefully attach it making sure its centered. Also spend a few minutes pressing it onto the dash, it will stick!
Its thinner than the old ones and doesnt interfere with GPS visibility. Its much stiffer than the old one so bounce is also greatly reduced. I dont know how much as I havnt been able to ride lately but I would guess the bounce is gone. I just dont see it flexing that much, 16ga stainless is stiff when its short like this.
I have to bead blast and paint them to finish. The first 3 pictured I used a truck bed lining for paint. I like the stuff, its tough and has a nice texture but I may switch to a flat black in an attempt to closer match the look and texture of the dash.
Price is now $35 bucks delivered anywhere in the USA. If interested send me a PM for my PayPal address and I will get one out to you ASAP.
Thanks

ETA,
This is the tape I used on the shelves, incase someone needs to replace theirs.
