I am thinking about trying the Garmin VIRB Ultra 30 camera. It gets good reviews for being a camera but what interests me is how it interfaces with the Nav VI. On the Nav VI there is an icon to connect the camera. The Nav VI manual says the following.
VIRB® Remote
The VIRB remote function allows you to control your VIRB action camera using your device. Go to www.garmin.com/VIRB to purchase a VIRB action camera.
Controlling a VIRB Action Camera
Before you can use the VIRB remote function, you must enable the remote setting on your VIRB camera. See the VIRB Series Owner's Manual for more information.
1 Turn on your VIRB camera.
2 On your Navigator device, select Apps > VIRB Remote.
3 Wait while the device connects to your VIRB camera.
4 Select an option:
• Select Start Recording to record video.
• Select Stop Recording to stop recording video.
• Select Snapshot to take a photograph.
Has anyone tried this combination that might be able to offer some more information? Any chance the VIRB can be controlled by the left handlebar control wheel? That would be a valuable feature!
Thanks,
Steve
