I'm going to make it. Some of the guys over on a FB group asked for it. The mount will work with almost any display you can find but it's the 7" carpuride I designed it for. I have PC boards being made now and should have them in a week or so.
@coyotek Wel

Well when you have the 702 mount ready I'll get in line for one of them..>Wish I had waited...Oh well

How is the screen clarity/brightness compare to a Zumo XT?

The 5 inch in the dash is plenty bright. The 7 inch IDK. I've not had it outside but you do, generally, give up some brightness with a larger screen. The screen in both units is IPS which is a decent technology.

Agreed. I rolled my bike outside in the sun the day I received the Carpuride and it was nice and bright. At least as bright as the Nav 6. Not sure what kind of benchmark that is against the Zumo, so YMMV. Haven’t taken the bike for a ride yet to try the unit since we were hit by an arctic blast here in DFW and I ain’t going to go and freeze my azz off out there riding. 🥶 LOL!

Question - do you think your adaptor be "adapted" to power this unit - NAVICAM CL876- 6.86" MULTIFUNCTION MOTORCYCLE SMART SCREEN ? I could figure out a mount for it if your unit is just basically exposing the +12 and ground from the Nav connection on the bike. This unit is a bit wider and the profile looks like it would fit nice on the K1600.

It will work just as it is I think. The only caveat is the mount supplies switched power (as it comes from the stock GPS mount). If they really need an unswitched source then that would be something you would have to add. It will likely work if you just tie both power leads together. The 7" mount uses standard 1" ball fittings so that looks to be the same as the display you asked about.

Ordered a mount for the w502 from your website this morning. Thanks for doing this brother!

I hope they do. I have no idea how to get it to invoke on the carpuride.

Johnny will come back in a bit and let us know. After he is done playing with it.
Paul and all, I did do a bunch of research this weekend and deduced that screen mirroring isn't a thing with apple carplay/android auto. It's a thing BUT to get it to work stand alone is flaky at best and the apps available have to be purchased and don't get good reviews.
I've decided that I'll use the carpuride as a conduit to get maps and messages etc on my dash BUT still use my phone for audio to my helmet so I can continue to receive the JBV1 alerts in my earbuds even though it won't display on the dash. I'll probably still leave my phone installed in the stem mount I have been using.

I also determined mirroring is not an option. There is a screen on my android phone that lists all the Android Auto apps. You can enable or disable each of them so they show or don't show on the display unit. The list of apps for Android Auto is formidable however. I assume most of these apps are also for Carplay

Here is what Apple lists as CarPlay compatible apps. I feel it may be a bit limited and there are/should be more, though.

Ah disappointment.

Got my Carpuride W702 in today. Looks pretty good but the outer plastic is not BMW quality - but once you get it mounted and turned on you no longer care. It looks very good lit up! (Did not test in sunlight though.) I set it all up and was quickly into Android Auto and hit play on some AC/DC through my Cardo Edge - sounded great!

I then tanked my day by trying to use the Cardo volume control. Nope. Nothing. I then hit pause. Nothing. So it appears that the volume and media controls on the Cardo do not pass through to the Carpuride.

Now you can just hit play/pause on the screen for music BUT the volume control on the Carpuride just isn't going to work for me. You have to short press the volume behind the top left of the display to pull up the volume control onscreen. Well I can hit the button bare handed if I can get a fingernail to touch it, but I could not push it with a glove on. It's too recessed and close to the back of the display. Even if that were easy, you'd still have to tap the screen afterward to set the volume.

On top of that, if your phone isn't paired with your Cardo then the Cardo FW check/update won't work either.

I then tried repairing to the phone so the media controls would work but I could not get any sound to play on the Cardo at all. I unchecked media and phone in the W702 BT options and no dice.

I've emailed Carpuride tech support (but I'm not optimistic.) I'll keep you posted.

Here's a shot of the screen in full sunlight at 14:45 in the afternoon. Full brightness. I was impressed.

I'm digging the USB power cord they supply. I'm walking around with it plugged into my trucks' jump start battery.

And here's the power button on the side you have to push for volume control:

After a lot of playing around I got the Cardo volume to work but only by powering on the Cardo after the Carpuride is up and running. And then it's odd because they are separate volumes. When it's Cardo to phone, the Cardo volume controls the phone volume. With the Carpuride it's two different volumes. So I left the Carpuride at 30 and can then dial it down via the Cardo wheel. Overall louder than previously. You just have to watch out if you don't have the Cardo volume because 30 is loud!

The media controls still do not work but now I get a Cardo beep that they are trying. It's odd because when I push stop on the Cardo, it makes the "playback stopping" tone and the music stops - for half a second - and then starts back up automatically.

Another oddity - on Android Auto settings on the phone it identifies the Carpuride as "Rolls-Royce". Guess the devs were aiming high!
